Asin Thottumkal was born on 26th October 1979 in Kochi, Kerala to a Syrian Christian family. Her father Joseph Tottumkal who was an entrepreneur is now her manager. Her mother is Seline Thottumkal, a surgeon by profession.

Asin studied at the Naval Public School and St Theresa’s Higher Secondary School. She wrapped up her education with a degree in English Literature from St Theresa’s College.
She assisted her father in his business that was diverse ranging from software to exports. She also modeled and has appeared in ads for Colgate Toothpaste and Fairever Cream.

Asin faced the cameras when she was fifteen in the Malayalam movie Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001). Her 2003 Telugu movies Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammay and Shivamani won her the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award and the Santosham Best Actress Award respectively.

2004 to 2006

She continued to work in Telugu hits like Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana in 2004. She went back to deliver a hit in the Tamil movie M Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi. While Chakram failed Ullam Ketkumae, Sivakashi and Majaa were hits in 2005. The Tamil movie Ghajini, also released in 2005, was a blockbuster and won her the Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award. Her two movies in 2006 Varalaru, a Tamil movie and Annavaram, a Telugu movie were successful.

2007 to 2009

In 2007, Asin scored two out of three when Pokiri and Vel did well while Aalwar underperformed. Kamal Hassan’s extravaganza Dasavatharam in 2008 was again a hit with Asin playing Kothai Radha and Andaal. The same year she made her debut in Bollywood with the Hindi version of Ghajini starring Aamir Khan. Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, releasing in 2009, is said to have her as the lead with actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

Cheaper car insurance for women - Mums revealed as safer drivers

A survey by car insurance company, Privilege, has revealed that parents who drive with their kids in the car are less of a road safety hazard.

Parents that have their kids in the back are 50% less likely to have a car accident or commit a road safety offence than the average driver. This means that mums have more chance of retaining their cheap car insurance premiums with providers that specialise in cheap car insurance for women.

77% of regular drivers surveyed admitted to breaking the speed limit over the last three years but only 53% of parents violated the same law.

Despite constant calls from the backseat such as 'are we there yet' and 'I need the toilet', just 29% of parents driving with a child are distracted compared to 45% of non-parent drivers.

Almost all parents (92%), mums especially, revealed that the main reason they adopt safe driving habits is to keep their kids safe from harm.

Lee-Anne Bass, a spokesperson for CoverGirl, specialists in great value car insurance for women, commented: 'It is excellent that parents are setting such a good example to their children, both as responsible parents and responsible drivers.

'This is also great news for mums who, as safer drivers, are less likely to be involved in road accidents and less likely to see a raise in their motor insurance rates.'

Automobile liability insurance is required in most of the United States.
Automobile liability insurance covers physical damage to other persons and property when the policyholder is found at-fault for an accident. These limits are referenced in terms such as 25/50/25, leaving some policyholders confused as to the amount of protection actually provided by the insurance company. All three liability limits represent thousands of dollars.

Single-Person Liability Limit
The single person maximum liability limit represents the first of the three numbers presented as coverage limits. This number defines the total dollar amount the insurance company will pay out to any single person on behalf of a policyholder when liable for an accident.

Aggregate Liability Limit
The aggregate limit represents the second number and sets a cap on the total amount of injury protection allowed during a single accident. This amount remains fixed whether one person suffers injuries during the accident or 10. The aggregate amount does not add to the single person liability limit. If one person suffers more than $15,000 worth of physical injuries with limits of 15/30, the policyholder remains responsible for paying for the rest of the damages.

Property Damage Liability
The third number listed refers to the amount of property damage covered when involved in an at-fault accident. This pays for damage to other trucks, trailers and automobiles and damages to structures such as light poles, buildings, signs, fencing and walls.

Identification
Common default limits offered to policyholders are 15/30/10, 25/50/25, 30/60/30, 100/300/100 and 250/500/250. Policyholders can customize these amounts to better suit their needs.

Considerations
Consider opting for a single injury liability limit such as 100/100, which affords the policyholder the aggregate limit whether the accident involves one person or three. This allows a more severely injured party to receive a larger sum of money for medical expenses, if needed.
